David is author of Location is (Still) Everything: The Surprising Influence of the Real World on How We Search, Shop, and Sell in the Virtual One and Xinmei Zhang and Yongge Dai Professor at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is an awarding-winning teacher and researcher and developed Wharton’s first course on digital marketing and e-commerce.  

David teaches Marketing Management on Coursera and Digital Marketing and e-commerce on EdX. David is an active angel investor in several digital-first brands including Aloha, Bonobos, Burrow, Cotopaxi, Harrys, Rockets of Awesome, and Warby Parker, among others. He is a New Zealand citizen and received his PhD from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
