VP Merchandise Planning & Inventory, Shoe Division, Nordstrom
Troy Nelson was named vice president of merchandise planning and inventory for Shoes in January 2018. In this role, Troy and his team support inventory planning, allocation and merchandising strategy for Nordstrom and Nordstrom.com.
Troy joined Nordstrom in 2010 and led Nordstrom Rack’s strategy efforts from 2010-2014, which contributed to launching Nordstromrack.com and significantly growing the Nordstrom Rack store base. From 2014-2015, Troy supported corporate development where he led various initiatives including the acquisition of Trunk Club and several partnerships with digital native brands. More recently, Troy was a Nordstrom store manager, vice president of strategy for Trunk Club and was the vice president of merchandise planning for Nordstrom Rack before assuming his current role.
Prior to Nordstrom, Troy held positions at Claire’s Stores, Apollo Global Management, Lehman Brothers and Credit Suisse.
Troy has an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a BBA in Accounting, Finance, and Marketing from the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington.
