Head of Business Development, John Lewis Partnership Ventures
Matt joined the John Lewis Partnership in 2007 from Tesco, and has spent time in a number of Analyst, Business Development & Strategy roles. In 2016 he became Head of Business Development of the newly formed ‘Ventures’ unit, an internal incubator which designs, develops and takes to market new growth ideas for John Lewis and Waitrose.
Prior to this Matt was Head of Brand Innovation for John Lewis, where he was tasked in driving a culture of innovation across a team of 1,000. It was here that he became convinced that at the heart of it lies a distinctive attitude and set of behaviours, not a fancy framework or process. Matt lives in the UK countryside with his wife, 2 children and 2 cats, and spends 3 hours commuting on a train each day where he claims to have all his best ideas.
